(PALM BEACH, FL)(March 9, 2011) I am a conservative. I am probably the only Republican presidential candidate who is actively hammering away at a genuine conservative agenda. Later today and tomorrow I will be supporting Representative Pete King’s efforts to pry loose the truth about the radical Muslim agenda in the United States.

But I am not, repeat NOT, a “Ralph Reed conservative.” Until I saw the mention in Dana Millbank's Washington Post column (link below) I was not aware that the “Faith and Freedom Coalition” operation was Ralph Reed’s latest front group.

Ralph Reed, of course, was the partner of convicted Republican influence peddler and swindler Jack Abramoff. Reed publicly criticized China while taking pro-Chinese cash under the table (link below). Reed “prayed” for God, and then acted as a front-man for casino swindles. Reed and Abramoff, together with pedophile Mark Foley, cost Republicans control of congress in 2006.

Ralph Reed is back, towing Republican presidential candidates by their noses. I had no idea Reed was behind the FFC event. No doubt Reed would not have been happy to find the Republican Party’s strongest corruption-fighter, me, popping up at his event.

I don’t have to take a back seat to any presidential candidate when it comes to conservative issues or values. Pat Robertson invited me to join the Republican Party. But I also won't take a back seat to Ralph Reed’s efforts to once again use “faith and freedom” as a ruse to conduct his own moneymaking schemes.

If the best Republican conservatives can do is to once again march in lock-step with Ralph Reed, Barack Obama can look forward to spending another four years wasting the taxpayers’ money.

Either conservatives will take a stand against Ralph Reed’s hypocrisy and profiteering, or they will stand for nothing and are setting up the party for another walloping by the Democrats. Let’s not fool ourselves. Republicans did not win a mandate in 2010. Barack Obama lost his.

I am the Republican presidential candidate with plain talk and straight talk.

The Prophet Jeremiah (5:21) reminds us that “There are none so blind as those that will not see, none so deaf as those will not hear.” Earlier this week, Republican presidential candidates pretended to be blind and deaf in kowtowing to Reed & Co. Pretending to ignore the “real” Ralph Reed is not the way to win back the White House. Reed’s way was the way we lost Congress and the White House on the last go-around.
