(Miami September 18, 2015 ) Republican presidential
candidate Andy Martin will hold a telephone news conference today, Friday, September
18th to discuss the “Obama-is-a-Muslim” outburst at a Donald Trump town hall
meeting in New Hampshire . Andy is
a New Hampshire resident.
“I suppose it was inevitable that the ‘Obama-is-a-Muslim’
trope would surface in the 2016 presidential campaign,” Andy says. “The liberal
media are in a frenzy over the question asked by an unidentified man at a
Donald Trump town hall meeting. So that the full panoply of the
‘Obama-is-a-Muslim’ history maybe available, Friday I am providing ten years of
perspective with current 2015 updates.”
1. What happened in New
Hampshire
Thursday evening (September 17th) Donald Trump convened a
town hall meeting in Rochester , New
Hampshire
The first question to Trump came from a man claiming
President Barack Obama is a Muslim, and stating that “training camps” are
operating somewhere to kill Americans. (Please see link [1]).
I was watching the live feed. When I heard the question, I
went “Oh, oh, how will Trump respond to this one?” Trump had three options. He
could ignore the question; he could correct the questioner and he could respond
in some form or fashion and try to move the town hall meeting along without a visible
distraction. Trump chose the third option and essentially brushed off the
questioner with a promise to “look into” matters in the future. In my opinion
Trump was merely being polite and, indeed, so far as I am aware Trump’s meeting
proceeded without any disruption or undue attention to the questioner.
We do not know if the questioner was a sincere believer in
his question, or whether he was a Democratic Party saboteur. Democrats routinely
use dirty tricks in New Hampshire ;
they were recently caught making phony campaign calls. Or perhaps the questioner
was a saboteur from another Republican campaign.
At this point we do not know who he was or what the questioner’s
agenda was. Interestingly, no one in the media seemed to want to identify the
questioner or verify if he was even a Trump supporter. Instead, TV bobbleheads
began to flay Trump and to demean his supporters as “birthers.” Within moments
Chris Matthews on MSNBC went ballistic. CNN followed.
So what are the facts about Obama’s religion, and why have
“Obama-is-a-Muslim” beliefs survived for a decade since I first created them?
2. My work exposing Obama, starting ten years ago in 2005
Ten years ago in August, 2005 I inadvertently created the
“birther” movement by providing factual scholarly research about Barack Obama,
who was then a U. S.
Senator. My writing morphed into “Birtherism.” Birtherism eventually became
identified with the claim Obama was born in Kenya ,
a claim which Barack and Michele Obama have encouraged. The claim was false. As
hucksters sought to pyramid lies upon lies about Obama’s origins I walked away
from the movement I had accidentally created.
I have, however, continued my scholarly research into the
facts about Barack Obama’s life. Next week when I head to Honolulu
to examine the nuclear threat from North Korea
to Hawai’i I will also be
continuing my scholarly research into Obama’s family history.
A. The facts about Obama’s life and religion
In 2005 I used my worldwide investigatory resources to look into
the facts about Barack Obama’s history. My findings were initially delivered in
news conferences (please see [2]). Over the years, here is what I have found:
(a) Barack Obama was
born in Hawai’i . I have never
seen any credible evidence that could stand up in a courtroom to establish any claim
to the contrary.
(b) Barack Obama’s putative father was a Muslim. His father
was buried as a Muslim. The president’s grandfather was a Muslim convert.
(c) Obama candidly disclosed to Nicholas Kristof of the New
York Times that Obama had worshiped as a Muslim during the years when young
Obama lived in Indonesia .
(d) Under Islamic law, a child automatically assumes the
religion of his father. Therefore, as a matter of Islamic law, Barack Obama
became a Muslim at birth.
(e) Many of the people Obama referred to as “family” during
his recent visit to Kenya
(in 2015) are also Muslims.
(f) Obama moved in with his grandparents at the age of ten;
his grandparents did not have an active religion.
(g) There is no evidence that Obama was ever baptized.
(h) I attempted to obtain baptismal records for Obama from Trinity
United Church Chicago and they did not provide
any. Because Obama was not baptized as a child, he would have had to be baptized
as an adult. There is no record of any baptism.
B. What is a Christian?
(a) Unlike Islam, Christianity is an open religion. You
become a Christian through Holy Baptism, but baptism is available to children
and adults alike. Was Obama ever baptized? We don’t know. He won’t say.
(b) Notwithstanding the formal requirement of Holy Baptism
to become a Christian, a requirement that is observed at Trinity
United Church
(c) So is Obama a Christian, or did he become one at some
unidentified date in the past? The answer is yes. Saying he is one effectively
makes him one.
(d) After the Obama family moved into the White House, local
African-American churches expected him to attend. He does not. Obama worships
at the Episcopal church across the park from the White House and does so only
rarely when he is shamed into doing so.
3. The 2008 Campaign
During the 2008 presidential campaign Obama’s family history
and religious history were legitimate issues. But Republican leaders were
afraid to raise them. Regrettably, the senior citizen who was nominated by
Republicans to oppose Obama did everything he could to elect Obama. John McCain
essentially collapsed and surrendered to Obama. McCain muzzled Sarah Palin, who
wanted to fight Obama. Republicans were justifiably outraged.
Thursday night (September 17th) the liberal media were again
playing an excerpt from the 2008 campaign in which McCain said Obama was a
“nice man.” Obama was not a nice man in 2008, not then, not now, not at all. But
the media loved McCain for betraying the Republican Party.
After McCain effectively ended his campaign, Obama started attacking
me as the leader-by-default of the opposition to Obama’s election. Obama sent
his thugs on national TV to smear me with lies and distortions. In October,
2008 I filed the first lawsuit in Honolulu
to open Obama’s birth certificate to public scrutiny, triggering a firestorm
that still endures today.
In 2012, we saw more of the same surrenderitis by Republican
leaders. Republicans nominated a hedge fund huckster to oppose Obama and Mitt
Romney followed the McCain playbook, refusing to take off the gloves and oppose/expose
Obama. That is why Romney is now a private citizen instead of the president. Once
again, loyal Republicans were outraged at the betrayal.
4. Obama in office
After taking office in 2009 Obama promptly went to Cairo
and apologized to Muslims for American history. Obama’s “apology tour” further
enraged Republicans and conservatives. Obama went to Saudi
Arabia , where he bowed to and kissed the hand
of the Saudi king. Many Americans remember these events, with disgust.
5 “Obama-is-a Muslim” believers have become a political movement,
and opposition to him is no longer a religious matter
I suppose it was inevitable that in an open and unstructured
town hall meeting in New Hampshire
the “Obama-is-a-Muslim” movement would surface. But opposition to Obama is no
longer primarily a religious belief system. Islam, of course, is both a
religion and a cultural discipline, a “lifestyle” if you prefer.
Opposition to Obama today is centered on his support for
radical Islam. Putting aside my criticisms of the Bush family, ISIS ,
the Islamic “caliphate,” came into being under Caliph Obama, not George W. Bush.
Chaos in the Middle East is an Obama production.
Is it any surprise that “Obama-is-a-Muslim” believers are
still among us? And, once again, liberal media are trying to discredit
Americans for holding to a belief system that may not be based on “fact,” but
is surely based on the “evidence” of the six years of chaos Obama has created
within the United States
and abroad. Obama refuses to use the term “radical Islam.” He pretends radical
Islam does not exist. He has forced federal law enforcement agencies to kow’tow
to political correctness concerning Islam. With every round of Obama’s
pro-Islamic program, public resentment has continued to fester.
Thursday night the boil burst in Rochester ,
New Hampshire
Stay tuned. The media may be feasting on their renewed
birther bashing. But Obama-the-Christian-or-Muslim-or-nothing-at-all is going
to leave behind an endangered America
and a world in chaos in January, 2017. It’s enough to make you pray.
Footnote: my regular readers are aware that in 2008 I went
to Honolulu and confronted Obama in
a great Honolulu showdown. I presented
the theory (not fact) that Obama’s father may not have been Obama, but rather
Frank Marshall Davis. In which case Obama was not a Muslim at birth and is only
a pseudo-Muslim. In my opinion, and it
is only an opinion, not a proven fact, Obama may be living a lie, just not
the lie the anonymous man in New Hampshire
believes in.
I am often asked why I continue my scholarly research in Hawai’i .
I persist because we have not even scratched the surface in learning the truth
and the facts about Barack Hussein Obama. I may not share the views of the man
who questioned Donald Trump Thursday night. But I understand why people are
frustrated and why they believe the political system and the Republican Party
have failed them. That’s why although I have no expectation of wining the
nomination I remain a back-up Republican candidate for president.
Despite the fact that everything I have written about Obama
over the past decade has proven to be correct, the liberal media continue to
pummel me for publishing the truth. Republican national leaders have proven to
be ineffective in stopping Obamanation, probably because “there are none so
blind as those who will not see, none so deaf as those who will not hear.” The
American people are angry and want answers. The media are not providing them.
That explains the success to date of Mr. Trump.
