Republican Presidential candidate Andy Martin: Americans should boycott IBM, PGA, Masters, Augusta National

Independent Republican Presidential Candidate and conservative blogger Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference today, Friday afternoon, April 6th, to ridicule the Democratic Party’s “war on women” by calling President Barack Obama totally ineffective for failing to end sex discrimination at the Masters/Augusta National golf tournament. Andy says Americans should boycott IBM (a Masters sponsor), the PGA and any sponsor who advertises in an event that engages in sex discrimination. Andy has been a leading in the fight to obtain equal pay for women since 1969.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW YORK PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN NEWS CONFERENCE

Republican Presidential candidate Andy Martin says customers should boycott IBM, Masters sponsors and all PGA events to end sex discrimination

Andy says Republicans should point out the sheer phoniness of the Democrats alleged “War Against Women” when Obama can't even win the Masters/Augusta skirmish

Andy has been a leader in fighting sex discrimination since 1969

Andy says Obama’s coziness with Warren Buffet is the “lever” to open the Masters/Augusta National

(NEW YORK) (April 6, 2012) Independent Republican Presidential Candidate and conservative blogger Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference today, Friday, April 6th to call for a boycott of IBM, all PGA-sponsored and endorsed events, the Masters and the Augusta National Golf Club.

“If Warren Buffet belonged to a club that excluded Jews or African-Americans or – heaven forefend - Muslims, would Barack Obama associate with such a person? No. Well, Warren Buffet belongs to the Augusta National Golf Club and President Barack Obama hangs around with Buffet. Hello hypocrisy? It seems that sex discrimination is the last openly accepted bias tolerated in the so-called women-friendly Democratic Party.

“Beginning way back in 1969, when I became a party to the landmark AT&T sex discrimination/equal pay case at the Federal Communications Commission, I have been on the side of equality for women. The Republican Party used to be the party that promoted women. No so today. While I don’t believe there is a ‘war on women’ as the cable TV bobbleheads allege, it is clear that the rights of women have not been a major priority for Republican presidential candidates. Instead, they have been genuflecting at the altar of anti-abortion extremism. It’s time to turn the tables on Democrats and stake out a policy that calls for an end to sexual hypocrisy and sexual discrimination by the Masters, the PGA and Augusta National.

“Augusta National was eventually forced to end open racial discrimination. But sex discrimination is still tolerated? And why is IBM sponsoring an event that discriminates against the company’s chief executive? If that isn’t the same type of hypocrisy we see from Obama and Democrats, what is?

“IBM should drop its PGA sponsorships, all of them, and every sponsor should boycott the PGA and the Masters unless and until sex discrimination is ended at every PGA event. If sponsors boycotted every PGA event the message would find its way to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida very quickly. Tolerating second-class citizenship for women is unacceptable.

“Obama claims to be a leader in the fight to protect women. But he has been pathetically ineffective in ending sex discrimination. And in the same way he ‘paled around’ with Bill Ayers and the radical anti-American bombers in Hyde Park, today he pals around with Warren Buffet who encourages sex discrimination while making a spectacle of his secretary's salary.

“People can’t always figure out the minutiae of discrimination debates. But they hate a hypocrite. And Obama is a hypocrite when it comes to sexual discrimination, disrespect for women, toleration of sexual bias by major national advertisers, and toleration of the professional golfers’ tour and PGA.

“I am not a golfer so the ignorance and backwardness of Augusta National does not affect me directly. But I would refuse to join or support a ‘private’ club that engages in very public sex discrimination,” Andy will charge today. “How about it Obama? Will you put your money, or at least Warren Buffet’s money, where your mouth is? Just saying you are against sex discrimination at the Masters as you did on Thursday is not enough. Do something. Come out in public and make a statement, instead of using your sad sack news secretary to speak for you. End the hypocrisy. Start the boycott. Tell your pal Warren to take action. A boycott of GEICO might be next.”
