(CHICAGO) (March 19, 2012) Independent Republican Presidential Candidate and conservative blogger Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference today, Monday, March 19th to announce he has asked the Orange County (Florida) State Attorney to prosecute George Zimmerman, the cold-blooded killer of Trayvon Martin (link below). The Martin murder (no relation) is drawing national attention because of the way an armed maniac killed an innocent person walking home.

Andy Martin has a long history of fighting political and judicial corruption in Florida, and of political activism in Orange County. The Orange County Republican Executive Committee gave Andy a special award in 1990 for standing up for conservative Christians at the 1990 Republican Party of Florida State Convention.

Andy has probably filed more successful corruption charges against corrupt Florida judges than any other person in Florida history (see link below).

“While in Florida recently I followed local news accounts of the murder of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. Those of us who are strong supporters of the Second Amendment and concealed carry, as I am, know that these principles are undermined when psychotic individuals commit horrible crimes. The facts appear to be undisputed. A kid walking home was murdered by a predatory killer who attacked him after being asked not to engage by a 911 operator. Mr. Zimmerman undermines public support for concealed carry and the Second Amendment. Zimmerman should be prosecuted for a capital offense.

“We do not need to encourage armed whackos running around Florida or Illinois or anywhere else imagining they can take the law into their own hands,” Andy says. “Firearms ownership and use are not only a constitutional right, they are also a serious responsibility; they are not a ‘license to kill.’ Zimmerman needs to be in jail, not walking the streets.”

“I am a strong believer in local action. But if Lawson Lamar will not prosecute then I will ask the Department of Justice to do so. I have a lifetime of commitment to civil rights and I urge every Republican Presidential candidate to support and endorse my request to Florida officials.”
