Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin holds a New York news conference today, Friday, March 11th to ask that Newt Gingrich withdraw as an “exploratory” presidential candidate
Martin says Gingrich’s claim that public service led him to adultery is a disgrace and makes a joke of the Republican Party
Andy says that Newt Gingrich opens the door for Bill Clinton to claim the same alibi
Martin says “cash and carry Christians” should not allow Gingrich to buy his way out of his serial adultery

“What is wrong with this man?” Martin asks “He didn’t commit adultery just once, or commit a single act. He repeatedly violated his marriage vows and now claims that public service motivated him to commit private infamy. How would his urges be any different in the Oval office? The man belongs on Oprah’s couch.
“Gingrich confuses ‘forgiveness’ and condonation. God forgives, but that does not mean humans are required to condone illicit behavior by rewarding the conduct. We forgive murderers but we don’t let them out of jail.
“Gingrich’s defense is an insult to the intelligence. He has been out of office since his last adulterous affair. What would happen if he was placed in the most ‘passionately’ intense office in the world? Well, we already know. He would commit adultery. His ‘passions’ would drive him to be immoral and unfaithful.
“Gingrich’s alibi is not going to go unnoticed. Bill Clinton has been given the perfect escape hatch.
“Unless the presidential campaign is going to deteriorate into a farce, candidates should not be making asinine statements seeking to exculpate themselves from prior immorality. If Gingrich's marriage vows meant nothing to him, twice, why should anyone believe anything the man says? Because he has been forgiven? His current ‘marriage’ was conceived in adultery. Gingrich should withdraw his exploratory-or-whatever he calls his campaign for the White House. If he formally announces, I do intend to pursue the matter in greater detail.
“Christian leaders should also be evaluated on how faithfully they apply their vows to Gingrich’s serial adultery. In Iowa, some Christians have apparently been engaging in the medieval practice of the Catholic Church, which sold ‘indulgences’ to allow sinners to escape the consequences of their sins. It seems as though Iowa Christians, and maybe others, are willing to take Gingrich cash in exchange for laundering Gingrich’s adultery. That’s wrong. Gingrich should not be allowed to buy his way into forgiveness. Cash-and-carry immorality undermines the entire Christian movement in politics:”
