(NEW YORK) (August 5, 2011) Corruption-fighting Independent Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference Friday, August 5th to call on President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden to resign and allow a caretaker administration to take control of the federal government.

Seven years ago, at the beginning of the media euphoria about Barack Obama, Republican Party reformer Andy Martin wrote the first article questioning the quality of Obama’s credentials. Martin’s article became the bible of the anti-Obama movement. Martin’s bestselling book “Obama: The Man Behind The Mask” contained a CIA-style psychological profile of Obama that predicted Obama could not function as a president.

“Barack Obama tries to blame the congress for his failures as a leader,” Martin says. “Well, I have 45 years of experience in Washington. I worked in the 89th Congress. The president managed the congress and enacted his legislative program. Obama is a complete failure as a manager. That’s why congress is dysfunctional. Obama should point the finger of failure at himself and no one else.

“Obama’s tenure increasingly reminds me of Watergate summer 1974. The nation is entering a prolonged and irreversible malaise as long as Obama is in the White House. Obama has lost the confidence of the American people. Unlike President Nixon, Obama has not committed any apparent crimes in office. But loss of confidence is loss of confidence. Obama’s ‘I will not sign a deficit extension without new revenue’ is as much an expression of impotence as Nixon’s ‘I am not a crook.’

“I call on Obama and Vice President Biden to resign. That will put Senator Reid in the White House as a caretaker. Reid should agree not to run in 2012 and nominate a Republican interim vice president. We need a transitional administration that removes Obama and opens the door to a definitive election in 2012.

“I am aware that the United States is a republic and not a parliamentary democracy. But the whole world is looking to the United States for leadership. Obama is not an American leader. He does not believe in American exceptionalism. Obama has tried to enact an un-American agenda of proto-socialist programs. I never doubted that Obama was an American citizen, but mere citizenship is not enough to be a president. The American people must trust your leadership. The business community must have confidence in your judgment.

“In 2008 I called Obama the ‘World’s Greatest Entertainer.’ I was the first person to call Obama a socialist on national television (see link below). Well, I was right. But Obama’s entertainment talents are not leadership skills, they are not management skills. The American people are suffering a huge hangover at Club Obama.

“We look to Obama for leadership (see link blow). Obama’s answer to the challenges he faces? Go on a bus tour of the Midwest. A bus tour is not an economic policy and it is not a substitute for an economic policy. Obama’s administration is bereft of any leadership potential. His team is bankrupting America and endangering our world role. It’s time for Obama to go,” Martin says.

“When I announced for the presidency in December I promised to drive the agenda of the 2012 presidential campaign. Right now I am driving Obama’s tour bus right out of Washington. For good. Obama created a climate of false fear in 2008, and got elected; now he has created a climate of genuine fear in Washington and across America, and that fear is going to remove him from office.

“As a first step, I recommend that the House of Representatives adopt a resolution of no confidence in the Obama Administration and its policies. Contrary to Chris Matthews' obnoxious pro-Obama ads on MSNBC, Obama does not love America, he does not love our nation and he has become the enemy of the American People.

“We need a ‘Gerald Ford’ administration to stabilize the economy and restore world confidence until November, 2012.”
