(CONCORD, NH) (NEW YORK)(August 10, 2011) Corruption-fighting Independent Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin will hold a Concord, NH/New York telephone news conference today, Wednesday, August 10th to announce he has filed an emergency petition with the New Hampshire Supreme Court to block the proposed sale of The Balsams to Ocean Properties, Ltd. Martin says the proposed sale is tainted with corruption.

Because Andy’s mother was born in New Hampshire and his family’s roots in the Granite state go back 100 years, Andy is effectively New Hampshire’s “Favorite Son” in the 2012 presidential primary.

“Someone has to stand up for the 300 workers who are losing their jobs in a fraud scheme orchestrated by Ocean Properties, Ltd.,” Martin says. “Ocean Properties is preying on helpless employees in an economically distressed area of the state in direct opposition to the stated desires of the trust’s founder, Neil Tillotson. The proposed deal is being rubber-stamped by the Tillotson Trustees and the New Hampshire Attorney General.

“Ocean Properties lied to the Attorney General. Whether the Tillotson trustees were dupes, or incompetent or were part of the dirty dealing I cannot say yet,” Martin charges. “No one doubts the hotel can use freshening or refurbishing. Every piece of real estate needs to be modernized and updated periodically. But landmark hotels almost always renovate while they remain open. The Breakers in Palm Beach is a recent example.

“Ocean Properties promised not to close the hotel, and then turned around and did exactly what they promised not to do. They obtained the Attorney General’s approval for the sale by making fraudulent representations, and now that the fraud has been exposed the Attorney General is sitting on his hands. Where is Governor Lynch? Stonewalling the state’s Right-to-Know law. This smells like a political fix to me.

“Beyond these brief remarks I’ll let my pleadings in the New Hampshire Supreme Court speak for themselves.”
