FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ATTENTION DES MOINES DAYBOOK/ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin holds a Des Moines news conference today, Sunday, May 1st to recruit interns across the United States for his presidential campaign

“There have to be a lot of young conservatives out there, and even moderates and liberals, who are appalled by the lack of creativity in the Republican Party’s approach to Medicare and Social Security,” Martin says

Martin says the Republican Party’s “plan” for young people offers a “big, fat opening to the Democrats”

(Des Moines, IA)(May 1, 2011) Corruption-fighting Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin holds a Des Moines news conference today, Sunday, May 1st at 5:00 P.M. to announce he is launching a nationwide program to recruit interns for his presidential campaign.

Interviewing in person will begin Monday in Des Moines.

“After attending services at the Cathedral of St. Paul I was even more energized to announce our nationwide intern recruitment program,” Andy says. “I need to make a ‘virtue’ out of ‘poverty.’ I don’t have Las Vegas casino kings lining my pockets with ill-gotten loot to run my campaign the way some presidential candidates do. I usually fly coach, not in private jets.

“We can’t pay our potential staffers in cash but we can ‘pay’ in credibility and creativity.

“Donald Trump notwithstanding, I am the only potential Republican presidential candidate President Barack Obama is really afraid to run against. I have studied him and understand him like no other Republican understands him. Obama knows that. I have made his life miserable as no other Republican has. Obama calls it ‘distraction.’ Yah, sure. I created the ‘Birther’ movement in 2004. That movement has pursued Obama for the past seven years.

“While I am delighted that Donald Trump joined the team this year and added his celebrity--and his added celebrity no doubt produced the initial victory last week--I do not see that Trump ever added any credibility to my original research. Trump ended up serving merely as a ‘talking head’ for other peoples’ research. He never produced anything from his own investigative efforts.

“The Medicare plan proposed by Republicans in congress is death to any Republican presidential candidate in November, 2012. We need to stop this runaway train before it leaves the station. The Ryan plan is only a more elegant version of ‘stealing from your grandchildren.’ We can and should present a fair and sustainable option in competition with the Democrats’ sure-to-bankrupt-us approach. The attitude of Republican presidential candidates seems to be massive cynicism.

“I am the only candidate who has a large body of written work on the Internet, and I write my own material. I am known for straight talk and plain talk. My campaign is a natural for young people. I will propose economic solutions that work for ordinary working families.

“Iowa is a state that values education and intelligence. Maybe Iowans will value my truth telling. As a former adjunct professor of law, I was always popular in the classroom because I had real world experience. Some of my Republican opponents have ‘other’ world or ‘nether’ world experience. They are professional politicians. I am not. I am political reformer and corruption-fighter. I’ll have more to say on that aspect of my candidacy in a separate spiritual statement Sunday evening.

“In the meantime, our intern recruitment program begins Sunday afternoon in Des Moines. Interns be able to interact with the actual candidate, not staffers. I can cooperate with professors to work out credits, theses and other creative ways of motivating people to join our efforts. We will be building a national base on the on the foundation of the future of this great nation—our children—as opposed to building our efforts on Las Vegas casino cash and Wall Street blood money,” Martin will state.
