NEW YORK NEWS CONFERENCE SUNDAY: Republican presidential candidate visits “Occupy Wall Street”

Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin will hold a New York news conference Sunday, October 9th as he conducts a “listening tour” of Zuccotti Park and “Occupy Wall Street.” Martin has been criticized by some Republicans for his opening to Wall Street protesters. Andy says, “What’s not to like? Some of the protesters want accountability for government and corporate corruption. Why aren’t Republicans trying to persuade them to join our efforts? Republican leaders should not be capitulating to public employee unions and Democratic Party interest groups.” Andy promises to bring “tiger blood” to the White House.

Andy promises “tiger blood’ for the White House, not Obama’s “timid blood” or “tired blood”

(NEW YORK) (October 9, 2011) Corruption-fighting Independent Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin will hold a New York City news conference Sunday, October 9th as he conducts a “listening tour” of Zuccotti Park and makes arrangements to spend Monday night with “Occupy Wall Street” protesters.

Martin has just returned from a Hawai’i trip investigating President Barack Obama’s character and origins.

“The vitriol directed at the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protesters by Republicans leaders is unfortunate,” Martin says. “Herman Cain, Peter King and Eric Cantor have used inappropriate rhetoric to condemn what is an authentic American protest movement. Instead of excoriating all of the protesters Republicans should be trying to recruit some of them. Not all of them, some of them.

“To be sure, there are individuals advocating asinine positions. But the Democratic Party’s professional hucksters and special interest groups are all over the protesters. Why shouldn’t Republicans respond with a ‘push-back’ trying to recruit protesters to consider free market solutions? There are probably many ‘Occupy Wall Street’ people who are the children of Republican parents.

“I have made clear that I don’t stand with everyone who is protesting. I don’t support the goofy socialist proposals of some of the protesters. But what’s wrong with seeking accountability for government corruption and corporate corruption? Will a new Republican president refuse to prosecute corrupt bankers and government officials? Say it isn’t so, Joe.

“Why are Republicans just walking away from the protesters? It is a truism that Barack Obama and George Bush are both responsible for the mess we are in. Congress has also failed the American people. Bankers, for example, pulled off some of the greatest ‘heists’ in American history. JP Morgan Chase stole Washington Mutual and then blew away WaMu’s customers. Thousands of employees were needlessly fired. Why shouldn’t people be protesting? There should be more protesters, not fewer.

“I am going to see if I can make arrangements to spend Monday evening with the protesters. As long as they remain committed to nonviolence I don't see why I shouldn’t be there separating the ‘wheat’ from the ‘chaff’ and trying to reach as many people as I can. After all, I have spent my entire life fighting corporate and government corruption. I am not part of the problem. I am part of the solution. I am the only Republican presidential candidate who is.

“If I land in the White House, and I am a decided dark horse to do so, the protesters will be welcome to set up camp on the South Lawn of the White House. Hoodlum Alderman Paddy Bauler once said ‘Chicago ain’t ready for reform.’ Well, believe you me, America better be ready for reform. Or we are doomed.

“I am the only ‘Reform Republican’ presidential candidate. I am the only presidential candidate with a real track record of fighting corruption for decades. Obama is part of the problem.

“The Republican Party was born as a protest movement. Republicans have repeatedly reformed America. So why are Republican leaders summarily slamming the door on reformers today? Just because they are unorganized and don’t have spread sheets with talking points and bulleted proposals?

“We need to reform Barack Obama’s failed policies. We need a little ‘tiger blood’ in the White House, not Obama’s ‘timid blood’ or the ‘tried blood’ of the old Geritol commercials. Obama has literally turned America into a ‘failed state.’ I’m ready to convince protesters we can reform our economy and undo Obama’s damage. I’m the only Republican who is ready to shovel Obama’s s--- out of the White House.

“Finally, both parties are replaying the same Wall Street corruption game in 2012. The ‘bundlers’ are baaaack. Both parties are trying to raise obscene amounts of money from big business. Republicans and Democrats are equally guilty. So where does ‘change’ come from in 2013? I represent the only transformational presidential campaign and the only transformational candidate in the 2012 presidential race.”

Martin is the only presidential candidate with a national campaign headquarters in New York City.
